Frequently Asked Questions
What is Love Louisville Day?
It's a day when people all over Louisville will take to the streets with a single purpose: Love. Churches, businesses, and organizations will spend one Saturday this spring showing kindness across our city. We’ll demonstrate God’s love for Louisville through simple acts of service, giving, and mercy ... all with no strings attached. For more details, check this out.

Where and when will we meet on Love Louisville Day?
If you sign up as part of an organization, someone from your own group will be designated to take charge of the project. Your Point Person will arrange the logistics of your kindness effort, including telling you where and when to meet on Love Louisville Day: May 21, 2011. Before you go out "on the job," your leader will also give you practical tips for a successful outreach. (To see the overall schedule for the day, click here.)
If you sign up as an individual, the process is much the same, except that we will pair you with an organization in your area. The Point Person from that group will get in touch with you about the details.
(Note: If you've previously contacted us as an individual and haven't heard from us yet, please accept our sincere apologies. All of our Point People are volunteers with limited time. Contact us once more, and we'll do our best to get you a timely response.)
I can't participate on May 21. Will you be doing this again?
Who says you can only love our city on May 21? Get some friends together for a Love Louisville Day of your own! Visit this website for information about planning your own outreach.
I will be leading a group on Love Louisville Day: What should I know?
Follow this link for more information for group leaders, or download our comprehensive checklist of everything you'll need to do for a successful kindness outreach.
What about the weather?
Love Louisville Day will go forward, rain or shine! Your Point Person may make adjustments to your planned project based on the weather.
Can I bring the kids?
Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in Love Louisville Day. In fact, it's a great way to teach your children about sharing their time and resources with others!
How will I know what to do?
We recognize that doing something for the first time can be intimidating. That’s why your Point Person will give you practical tips and instructions before you "hit the streets." Most people who participate in Love Louisville Day really enjoy the experience, finding that they "get" far more than they "give."
What should I wear?
We're asking each person participating in Love Louisville Day to purchase a matching event T-shirt. The Point Person for your group will place an order for everyone involved in your outreach. (The exact price depends on size, but t-shirts are only $5-7.)
There's certainly no need to dress up—jeans go well with a Love Louisville t-shirt. You'll be more comfortable in them than anything else as you participate in an outreach.
What will happen after our outreach?
We're asking each organization that hosts a Love Louisville outreach to celebrate afterwards with a simple, free lunch for their participants! This will allow your whole group to share stories about the way God has demonstrated his love through you.
We encourage everyone to attend the lunch following their kindness outreach. However, it's certainly not a requirement for joining Love Louisville Day.
Have more questions?
We'll do out best to answer them: Please get in touch.
